The Multimedia Science Classroom
A Q-7 Scientific and Quantitative Literacy Project
Final Report
The initial phase of this project involved the purchasing of the materials
and
equipment. A full Multimedial Science Classroom set and one additional
student station
were purchased from the Computer Curriculum Corporation. In addition, a
modem and
modem accessory kit and a Macintosh 6115CD computer were purchased from
the SCSU
computer store. Upon arrival of these materials and equipment, they were
inventoried and
tested.
The second phase involved faculty training in the use of these materials.
The cost of
this training was included in the purchase price and was led by a team from
Computer
Curriculum Corporation. Faculty training was scheduled for December12 and
13. 1995
with six faculty scheduled to participate. During the training session, it was
discovered that
most of the printed materials were not included in the original shipment and
so the
trainerŐs copies were used. After the completion of the training session, I
contacted
Computer Curriculum Corporation to send the missing manuals and teacherŐs
guides.
These have not been received as of this time. Due to the lack of these
manuals, the
Multimedial Science Classroom materials have not been integrated into the
classroom
activities for preservice science teachers.
